Holiday Prep
I was preparing for a Memorial Day gathering I was hosting when my back pain started yesterday morning. Welcome summer!! This, following a week filled with extra house cleaning. (You know, the kind you only do when company's coming.) I thought I was just tired and that it would go away once I could rest after everyone leaves. The party was a
success! We enjoyed the food and fellowship. (One of my guests complimented me saying that my house has a warm feeling.) I rested last evening and slept well. I am enjoying having a clean house for sure, but not pleased with the continuing back pain!
This afternoon, the discomfort was in my mid back in 2-3 places. The pain was up to a 6 in one spot. So, I stopped sorting laundry and laid down on the floor and used the Body Code to identify places that were out of alignment in my spine. Using muscle testing I identified that thoracic vertebrae 3, 6, 8 and 9 were misaligned. (There are 12 thoracic vertebrae.)
Releasing the Fascia
Fascia is what first surfaced as problematic. Fascia is a thin layer of connective tissue that runs through and covers everything in your body-- organs, muscles, bones, blood vessels. Until recently, this thin covering was misunderstood as having a primarily structural function, to help maintain the shape of the body. Now we know that the fascia communicates to the brain what's happening internally. In every Body Code session I do, emotions trapped within the fascia are a focus for release. Managing the health of your fascia is essential in your emotional and physical wellness.
Not surprisingly several trapped emotions were present. Looking back, I can see how preparing for the holiday created certain mental and emotional triggers for me. I noticed a certain amount of shame and embarrassment as I saw the neglected spots where clutter and dust had collected in my home. My inner critic kicked in. “I should be taking better care of my space than this.” I worried about how people would judge my home. (Even though my friends aren't that way!) As I was cleaning I couldn't help imagining the look on peoples faces if they were to see my toaster/electric fryer caked brown with grease! “They won't want to eat here! Aaaarrgh.” Thank God for Brillo Pads!
Holiday Triggers
Holiday prep situations like this are perfect triggers for old mental and emotional patterns to come to the surface. If you have the right tools, this is an opportunity for healing. As we re-experience trapped emotions that are stuck in the body, it's natural for them to be expressed physically through pain. The pain is your body's signal that something-- a trapped emotion, an energetic wound, a misalignment, or some offensive energy needs to be released. Fortunately, I have the technology to do this!
Releasing Trapped Emotions
As I lay on the floor muscle testing using the Emotion Code chart, I felt the pain begin to ease. I found physical and emotional shock, unworthy, taken for granted, panicked and worthless. I used my power phrases to release each of those emotions. Starting with my head, I lifted up slowly stretching my neck and back, and felt one of the vertebrae pop back in. I have experienced that before, but for some reason, I wasn't expecting it that quickly. I'm still surprised at how powerful the body code is! A couple more rounds and I was able to have two more big pops in the middle of my back. The session took about 20 minutes. My pain went from a 6 to a 2! As I walked my dog I continued to use the Body Code to release additional trapped emotions from my back and now my pain is at a ZERO!! Yay!
What is also cool about the process is that I am releasing these emotions without having to wrestle with them. By identifying the trapped emotion, and expressing my will to release it, I am freed from that instance of the emotion. It really is that simple. Trapped emotions are kind of like a little kid that's upset. They just need to be seen and heard and then they can move on. “Yes, I see you. Let me help... It's okay now.” This instance of the emotion is gone for good! It's so much easier than any therapy I've provided in my 30 years as a clinical social worker. That's why I want to share the Body Code with you!! I hope you will do more research for yourself and discover the amazing tools in the Emotion Code and Body Code. I am able to provide sessions in person or remotely. Click here to book an initial consultation.

More About The Emotion Code
Developed by Dr. Bradley Nelson (D.C., ret) following over two decades of experience as a holistic chiropractor and educator, The Emotion Code aims to relieve pain, both physical and emotional, while rejuvenating relationships with love. This transformative program provides invaluable assistance in overcoming self-sabotage and empowers individuals to embrace their true purpose and live a fulfilling life.
Muscle testing plays a pivotal role in The Emotion Code methodology. It is used as a means to identify and release trapped emotions that may be contributing to physical discomfort, including chronic back pain. The process involves the following steps:
1. Formulate a Statement: The practitioner or individual formulates a statement that represents a specific trapped emotion or emotional energy they suspect might be present.
2. Muscle Testing: The individual's subconscious mind is accessed through muscle testing to determine the accuracy of the statement. This is typically done using the Arm Test or a similar muscle response technique.
3. Testing the Response: The individual's arm is tested for strength or weakness as pressure is applied while they make the statement. A strong response indicates a "true" statement, while a weak response suggests an incongruence or trapped emotion.
4. Identifying Trapped Emotions: Through a process of questioning and muscle testing, the practitioner identifies specific trapped emotions associated with the individual's condition, such as chronic back pain.
5. Releasing Trapped Emotions: Once the trapped emotions are identified, they are released using techniques such as magnetic therapy or intention. The goal is to restore the body's natural energy flow and alleviate physical discomfort.
By using muscle testing as a tool for communication with the subconscious mind, The Emotion Code enables individuals to identify and address emotional imbalances that may be contributing to chronic back pain or other physical symptoms. This approach aims to promote holistic healing by releasing trapped emotions and restoring emotional well-being.
What is Muscle Testing?
Muscle testing, a powerful technique, can be utilized to analyze the needs of the body and uncover the underlying causes of negative symptoms, including chronic back pain. By accessing the subconscious mind, muscle testing allows individuals to directly communicate with their body and receive answers regarding its requirements.
Grounded in the principles of biomagnetic energy, muscle testing acknowledges the profound influence of these energies on the subconscious mind, even if our conscious awareness is limited. The premise is that the subconscious has the ability to guide the body towards positive energy, encouraging favorable responses, and repel negative energy, prompting avoidance or resistance. It is through these responses that muscle testing becomes possible.
By posing "true/false" inquiries and observing the body's reactions, we can tap into the connection between the subconscious mind and energy. There are various methods to assess the body's response, with one common approach being the Arm Test. During this test, the subject extends one arm parallel to the floor, and the tester applies slight pressure to the subject's wrist while asking a question. If the subject's arm resists the pressure, it signifies a "strong response" and corresponds to a "yes" answer. Conversely, if the arm yields under pressure, indicating a "weak response," it signifies a "no" answer. This contrast between a strong and weak response forms the foundation of muscle testing, a valuable tool in addressing chronic back pain and other concerns.
Different Ways to Muscle Test
The Ring-In-Ring Test: To perform the Ring-In-Ring test, create a closed ring or circle shape using the thumb and middle finger of one hand. Repeat the same gesture with the thumb and middle finger of the other hand. Connect these rings together, forming two links in a chain. This manual muscle testing technique can be utilized in two different ways:
Option 1: Designate one hand as the resistance ring and the other hand as the pressure ring. The pressure ring should be firmly closed, while the resistance ring will either break open for a "no" answer or remain closed for a "yes" answer.
Option 2: Alternatively, you can intend for both rings to stay securely locked together for a "yes" answer, signifying a positive response. Conversely, both rings should break open for a "no" answer, indicating a negative response.
The Sway Test:
The Sway Test is a simple and effective method of self-muscle testing. It is one of the primary techniques taught in The Emotion Code due to its accessibility and reliability with a little practice. Although it may take slightly longer to conduct, it serves as a valuable backup method to know.
The Sway Test operates on the principle that the body responds by swaying either forward or backward, revealing the answer. The idea behind this test is that your body naturally leans forward towards truth, positivity, and congruency, while it sways backward, distancing itself from negativity, falsehood, or incongruency. This phenomenon draws upon the wisdom of the subconscious mind, which discerns what is true and what is false.
Even in the plant world, we observe automatic growth towards light, soothing music, or positive energy, and a retreat from negative influences, such as harsh rock music. We believe that our bodies possess a similar inherent mechanism!
Before attempting the Sway Test, it is advisable to eliminate any distractions like music or television, as they can interfere with the testing process, particularly when you are first learning. Stand in a relaxed position with your feet shoulder width apart, and let your hands rest by your sides. Close your eyes and focus on the instructions provided.
Initially, you may notice a slight constant movement while standing, as the body maintains its upright posture through subtle swaying forward and backward, occasionally swaying to the side. This gentle oscillation is normal and represents the body's effort to sustain its balance.
Now, shift your thoughts to war. Hold that thought in your mind while maintaining your stance. As you contemplate the loss of lives, families torn apart, tragedies, suffering, and destruction associated with war, you should observe your body recoiling or swaying backward in response. This backward movement typically occurs within 3 to 10 seconds, or possibly sooner. It signifies your body's inclination to move away from the negative energy associated with the thought of war.
Once you have experienced this response, clear your mind and redirect your thoughts to love. Imagine yourself as a being of unconditional love, with your heart radiating boundless love. Visualize this beautiful energy flowing out from your heart, filling the vast expanse of space. Envision loving everyone unconditionally, regardless of who they are. Consider how it feels to receive unconditional love and acceptance from others in return. As you hold this thought of unconditional love in your mind, you will likely notice your body swaying forward, gravitating towards the positivity, congruency, and beauty of that loving sentiment. Again, this forward movement generally begins within 3 to 10 seconds, or potentially sooner.
Once you can consistently obtain clear and accurate responses for these exercises, you have established a reliable baseline test. This indicates that you are ready to proceed with using the Sway Test to ask additional questions or make statements. For instance, if you are using The Emotion Code, you might ask, "Do I have a Trapped Emotion?" The Sway Test can be employed for any queries you wish to pose to your subconscious mind.
